So...a certain President of the US said something less-than-lovely-for-the-public-to-hear.

So, y'know how we've got the missiles set up in Europe?
Just in case something were to...per se...end in a feud?
To put it bluntly, The US has missiles in Europe to keep Russia from getting too excitable, we'll say.

Now, Mr. Obama said to Russia's president that he couldn't say anything for sure, and it was all "Well, okay. But we want them down.", and "No, we're doing it for Europe's protection.", etc., etc.
Now here's where it got interesting.

Obama thought the mike was off, but he said to Mr. Medvedev, "When I get re-elected, I can be more flexible".

Um...hold it.

Who said you were getting re-elected?
Everyone thinks you're doing a horrible job, Sir.
I'm sure you're a perfectly nice person, Mr. Obama, but you have a certain lack of knowledge, in several areas; SOPA and ACTA, Promising to take the troops out of Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan by a certain time, attempting to force Catholic Doctors -who are prohibited to use or distribute any and all contraceptives- to provide birth control against their will, etc, etc.

Someone's getting high and mighty.

The thing about the United states, it doesn't matter which Party is in office, if everything is not hunky-dory, people are going to complain about that party; people like to be comfortable. When Bush was in office (end of 2nd Term anyway), everyone was suddenly a Democrat. Now, everyone's a Republican. While I'm not saying Obama doesn't have a chance, it will shock and frighten me if he is re-elected.

Then, we'll have to deal with our dear friend Russia.
Oh joy.

I think Russia is a splendid country. Really, I do. Amazing Landscape, Charming People, Fascinating Culture, Deep History; it's a fine country. Granted, I think a government check-up would do the nation good, but it's really quite a nice place. It's one of my favorite Hetalia Countries, and I am very tolerant and empathetic towards Russians, and Slavs as a whole.

Under most circumstances, I'd love for us to calm down and stop being Best Frienemies Forever, and actually make an attempt to accept what went down 20-something years ago as an event of the past.

However, I don't appreciate my own country feeling threatened, or rolling over like a lil' doggy just to be on good terms; I'd rather the US and Russia be tense equals than friendly and in a greater-lesser relationship. I know that the US is a world superpower, and most countries know not to mess with us, but what kind of notion do we want to give here? That we'll just go "Oh that's okay, here's what you want." And smooth everything over?...Or could we be getting something out of this, aside from a reputation as the ultimate chump? (lol, I think we already have that)

And Obama seriously needs to think before he says stuff; it's not going to end well if he doesn't follow through with this (So only our real escape is if he doesn't get elected, or something else miraculous comes up). And I'd like to live without any total war, thx.

So yeah, Obama has made plenty of "Oops"es, and I think I'm ready for a new President when everyone else is.
Okay I luv you buh-bye.
